System Bundle (Linux)PER710 v511: Multiple individual download failures from EU

I'm using Repo Manager 1.9 Data Center Version and trying to create a bootable SUU iso for a R710 running ESXi to update the BIOS and other firmware. When I try to export the latest bundle from the Dell online catalog I only get 72 of 147 files downloaded and then can't create the SUU iso because the bundle is incorrect.

I've tried numerous times over a number of days already to re-export the bundle to my system and it always fails with a large number of files failing to download. I have about 4 GB of free disk on the system after 1.09GB is downloaded. It does manage to download bin and exe files so don't think its a firewall problem

As a quick fix is it possible to download a pre-generated bootable .iso of the system bundle somewhere?

The complete log from the export is attached but only able to attach 1 file so listed the failed files here

Hi,

To further analyze this issue, can you please post the logs available at %localappdata%\RepositoryManager\Log ?

Thanks,

Shashi

Hi,

Thanks for posting the logs. There is a .sign  file missing for one of the OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-LX-7.4.0-866_A00.tar.gz due to which the downloads might be failing. We are working on getting the .sign file issue resolved. I request you to try remove the OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-LX-7.4.0-866_A00.tar.gz and then re-try the export process once again and see if it succeeds.

Also the log mentions that it might be trying to download from the location C:\WorkArea\Dell Repo\Found-New-Updates-Repository-2014-2-1-003\ due to which it says "Remote name could not be resolved". That might also be one reason for failure. Please check the path once. Ideally it should download from ftp.dell.com

Regards,

Shashi.

I removed the dell repo software & the local drive where I downloaded the bundle to and re-installed the software again. On starting it listed my R710 repo but I started to save the bundle again but its still listing fails for some files and not for others.

Nowhere was I able to say not to use ftp.dell.com but really all I need is a bootable iso that will update the firmware on the R710 using the latest bundle. Is that available?

Hi Shashi,

While I appreciate you taking the time to help I'm up against a time pressure to update the fireware and would like to sort that first before debugging the repo download.

Does Dell publish bootable iso's I can use to update the R710 firmware?

Unfortunately Dell is not publishing bootable ISO. DRM is the only way to create it.

Can you please try again with the following steps.

Goto My Repository > View Dell Online Catalog

Choose R710 Linux Bundles only ( Type R710 in filter will quickly give this)

And export it to Linux ISO.

Can you please try this and let us know the result.

Thanks

Shabu
