Installing not the latest in Repository manager

Hello!

We are using OME to update rack servers. There are a couple of cases when I don't want to install the latest firmware / drivers, e.g. I don't want to install the latest chipset drivers because they just aren't installed with the error (I talked to Dell support, they couldn't do anything right away and didn't want to proceed with the troubleshooting because we have only hardware replacement support level; but that's another story). However, I want to install the second-latest version.

Dell Online catalog as a source in OME doesn't allow to choose the version, it just updates driver/firmware to the latest version.

I thought Repository Manager could help in this case, but I don't see the way to exclude the latest version of drivers and install the second-latest version. That is because when downloading Dell Online catalog, I can choose only the latest bundle for each server model. If I try to add bundle to the repository, it's again only the latest bundle for the model

Is there a way to use updates from different bundles for the same server model in Repository manager?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi

You may try to get an older version of catalog. from the following location.

en.community.dell.com/.../6893.dell-catalogs

Download a catalog from an older quarter. Dell normally revises driver and firmware in each quarter.

use DRM > Applications>Source Repository>Local Source Catalog.

Refresh source repository and create required repo from this source to get a previous version of updates.

Thanks

Thanks Shabu!

That works for me, however, it is not super convenient, as Dell releases new catalog every 2 weeks, and basically I have to rebuild catalog 2 times per month (because it is a requirement for us to have latest and greatest drivers/firmware).

Thanks.
