How often are the repositories updated?

Howdy,

When I open up Repo Man, I sometimes see the flashing thing in the corner telling me that there's a new online catalog from Dell that I should download.  Sometimes I seem to do that one day and then it's back again the next day.

I've been told that Dell only updates those master repositories every few months but then I'm not sure why I keep finding updates available in Repo Man and OME so often.  Is there any schedule as to when the online catalogs get updated?  Do they get updated any time a new driver comes out or just every once in a while?

Thanks.

The catalog is updated twice per month, the second and fourth Friday, see this site for archives http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/systems-management/w/wiki/6893.dell-catalogs

The Dell.com/support will post updates as they come available because of this it might happen that updates from online are not yet available in the catalogue.

And is this the same catalog that Lifecycle Controller, Repository Manager, and OME all use?

Hi,

Lifecycle controller has it's own set of catalog, OME and Repository Manager uses the regular server catalog.

Thanks,

Does the Lifecycle catalog also get updated on the same schedule or is that different?  We had always used the Lifecycle to update our servers but recently switched to Repository Manager and SUU files.  Just want to make sure we're using something that's relatively up to date.

Hi,

The catalogs revise every 2 weeks and get released on 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. Same is the case with Lifecycle controller catalog also.

Thanks,

Sashi

According to the link you posted above, the catalogs haven't been updated since April...http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/systems-management/w/wiki/6893.dell-catalogs

Is that correct or has the information moved?

The reason I ask is we have some things that were updated manually a while ago and now that I run Repository Manager to create an SUU file, it is showing older information than what I already have so I'm concerned about what's going on.

See the attached file for more info and let me know what's going on...

I clicked the little flashing thing in the upper right corner that says New Dell Online or something like that.  That's all I need to do, right?

Yes. That will load the latest Dell Catalog.

Thanks,

Hi,

Looks like the page is not getting updated with the latest information. Apologize for the inconvenience.

The latest Enterprise Server catalog was posted on 07/08/2016 and Business Client catalog was posted on 07/12/2016.

Did you try updating Dell Repository Manager with the latest Dell Online Catalog before creating SUU?

Thanks,

Sashi - Dell

That's what I did before I started and it ended me up with the screenshot I posted above with older versions than what I currently have.

Looks like catalog is missing this version 17.0.12 firmware update for intel NICs for R620 machine.

We have engaged the catalog team to analyse the issue.

can you please share the suu log file.

c:\dell\suu\invcolOutput.txt

Thanks

Thanks for the update.  We have a similar issue with the R430.  It has the 17.0.12 version but our server has the 17.5.11 version.  The 17.5.11 version says it was released on July 1st so it should be in the catalog?

Screenshot attached.

Thanks!
