Difficulty applying updates

Hello

I have been having some issues with applying updates. Using DRM, i get updates for the OME inventoried machines. When i save this repo to a network location, and load it up, it shows no updates that can be applied, even though there are indeed updates(seen via DRM)

any help would be great

Hello Giermo ,

From your screenshots it shows that the updates in DRM are Windows x64 DUPs. Currently OME 1.2 does not support Windows x64 DUPs and this support should be coming in the future.

But you can use Windows x32 DUPs that can be deployed on 64-bit platforms. When generating repository using OME inventory in DRM you can use the option to build Windows x32 bundles and components.

Thanks.

im glad i posted the screen shots lol.

So x32DUPs can be used to deploy x64 bit updates?? DUP being just the container used to hold the updates?

Thanks for the quick response

hmm? i did this again and selected x32 DUPs and then after the repo was created, i check the component level and all the updates etc were in x32 bit. Installing x32 bit updates on a x64 system is not something im willing to do.

Please advise/clarify as to a solution to patch x64bit machines with x64 bit patches

Thanks

Giermo,

The x64 DUPs are updates in native Microsoft Windows 64-bit format that do not require Microsoft WOW64 be installed on the Windows OS.

All supported Windows x32 DUPs can be used on any Windows 64-bit OS that have WOW64 installed.

If your Windows OS has WOW64 installed then it should work for you.
