What are the screen resolution options for a Pro Max 16 Plus with UHD+ display?
I'm looking into getting the Dell Pro Max 16 Plus laptop model that comes with a UHD+ (3840 x 2400) display. What are the display resolution options for this laptop? In particular, can it run UHD (3840 x 2160), which would match the native display resolutions of all my external monitors? Two DELL support reps told me "Yes" via chat but now I have my doubts because I just looked at two UHD+ laptops at a Best Buy and the next lower resolution on each one was 2560 x 1600, which is much coarser. I'd prefer to run all my displays at the same native display resolution but I can't even find any UHD+ external monitors.

For the internal display to look its best, only the native resolution will do (3840X2400). Anything else will not be as sharp.
External monitors are more flexible in terms of display than internal flat panels are. That said, you don't need to run the same resolution internally as externally. If you do want that and need the 16:9 display your monitors have, you will need a different notebook computer that has a 16:9 panel.

All well-known information. Not directly responsive to my question, however. Can the Dell Pro Max 16 Plus display at 3840 x 2160 or not. If it can, I fully expect the display will not be as sharp as the native resolution. But can it do 3840 x 2160 at all?

You should be able to set a non-standard resolution (custom), but would do better to order a system with a screen that has the same aspect ratio as your external monitors if you really want the resolution it appears you do.

I am confused. The Dell Pro Max 16 Plus MB16250 sales site only shows LCD as FHD and FHD+. Where do you see UHD?

There's a mention of UHD+ here

No doubt. That would be my first choice too. However, I'm not finding one, particulary a DELL, with a UHD display. They used to be fairly common (the old laptop I'm replacing is an HP ZBook 17 G3 that runs UHD). Not anymore, which is disappointing. I'm trying to meet other specs too, such as top-shelf CPU (e.g., Intel Core 9), multiple cores, 16" or larger screen, 64K RAM, 2 TB SSD, etc. Preferably a DELL due to corporate contracting arrangements. The Pro Max 16 Plus with UHD+ is about as close to my ideal specs as I can get. I'm still open to better ideas, however.
