Request for System Exchange – Premium Laptop with Hardware Failure (Error Code 2000-0921)
Hello Dell Team,
I am requesting a system exchange for my brand-new Dell laptop.
Order Number: 1023XXXX (full available via DM)
Order Date: Aug 16, 2025
Delivery Date: Aug 30, 2025
Invoice Value: ~$8,000 (purchase ~$5,000)
From the first week, the system has been unstable (random shutdowns, frequent black-screen boots, and momentary black screen flickers). More importantly, SupportAssist diagnostics flagged a hardware failure:
“NFC failed to respond correctly”
Error Code: 2000-0921 | Validation Code: 114881
Although support suggested the issue may be software-related, this diagnostic clearly indicates a hardware defect. Since the system is brand-new and still inside the 30-day exchange window (delivery Aug 30 → deadline Sep 26), I am requesting a system exchange for a brand-new, sealed replacement unit (not refurbished).
I have already shared my details with Dell support via chat and was told the request will be raised “subject to approval.” I kindly ask for confirmation that my replacement request is officially logged under the 30-day exchange policy.
