Bluetooth Headset Malfunction During Microsoft Teams Calls on Dell Pro Max 14
Issue
Users experience a shrill noise and microphone malfunction when using a Bluetooth headset during Microsoft Teams calls on Dell Pro Max 14 laptops.
Root Cause
The issue is caused by a compatibility problem with the latest Intel Bluetooth driver.
Troubleshooting / Resolution
- Uninstall the latest Bluetooth driver from Device Manager:

- Driver Version: 24.20.0.3 (A72)
- Release Date: 06 March 2026
- Provider: Intel
- Download an older, stable Bluetooth driver from the Dell Support website:

- Driver Version: 23.160.0.9 (A49)
- Release Date: 13 October 2025
- Install the driver manually using the following steps:

- Download and extract the driver files to a local folder.
- Open Device Manager.
- Select the computer hostname at the top of the device tree.
- Click Action → Add drivers.
- Browse to and select the extracted driver folder path.
- Proceed with the installation.
- Restart the laptop once the installation is complete.
Validation
After the restart, verify that the Bluetooth headset microphone and audio function correctly during Microsoft Teams calls.
Note to Dell Development Team:
If this is being reviewed by the Dell driver development team, please address the stability issues in Bluetooth driver version 24.20.0.3 (A72) and release a corrected, stable update. Until this is fixed, any automatic installation or update performed via Dell Command or Dell SupportAssist will reintroduce the same Bluetooth audio and microphone issues for users.
