Pro 14 Premium PA14250, taskbar oddities on external monitors

Hi,

I have some odd things happening when I connect a PA14250 to external monitors. I have at least two machines where the Taskbar appears to be floating just above the bottom of the screen (so you are seeing the wall paper where the taskbar should be, and then the taskbar and then wallpaper) or you see half the taskbar. The strange part is I have similar machine without issue on 3 external monitors. I have updated all drivers including drivers for docks, and no success. Suggestions?

Hi There,

I have exactly the same issue!

the way to fix this is by leaving the check box for Optimize taskbar for touch interaction...:

the only issue issue is that when connecting to external screens, this option is disappearing:

@DELL-Nat M my laptop is connected to Dell dock and x2 Dell screens via D++ .

Please advice.

#Engineering request:

Would you be able to share a short video demonstrating the issue? That would help the team better understand what’s happening.

Also, could you please confirm the setup details? Specifically:

  • Which monitor model is connected to the system
  • Which cable type (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, etc.) is being used
  • Which port on the system the monitor is connected to

Thanks in advance!

Hi, Sorry about the late reply but what I have done is updated the Dock that the user had to a new Dell Pro Thunderbolt 5 Smart Dock SD25TB5. The user had an older dock that was a WD19. I think that seems to have resolved the issue.

Stoyan_V1: I tried the same thing without success with that option as well.
