Pro 14 Premium PA14250, palm rest clicking noise, possible design or assembly defect?
Hello,
I’m using a Dell Pro 14 Premium (PA14250), and I’ve noticed that even when I lightly rest my hands on the palm rest, I hear a distinct clicking or popping sound from the laptop’s top case.
It seems like there’s some looseness or flex in the palm rest area, which causes the sound whenever pressure is applied, even slightly. This issue becomes especially distracting while typing, as the top case repeatedly makes a clicking sound.
I’d like to know whether this is considered a manufacturing defect or a design flaw.
Honestly, this is quite disappointing for a premium device. Despite the high price point, the build quality feels similar to a budget model due to this issue.
Could Dell please clarify whether this behavior is normal for this model, or if it can be repaired or replaced under warranty?
Thank you.

I’m attaching a video that demonstrates the symptom for your reference.
