Pro 14 Plus PB14250 on SD25TB4 dock
Pro 14 Plus that is not working correctly on SD25TB4 smart dock. Ethernet connection intermittently works OK but often has “Not connected” status in settings.
Hardware/Software details:
Pro 14 Plus PB14250 laptop <To protect you, your private information was removed from public view. All private data was saved to your private Case. DELL-Admin>
BIOS Version/Date Dell Inc. 2.6.1, 8/26/2025
Windows 11 up to date. Was 24H2 now 25H2. Both had the problem.
Intel(R) Ethernet Controller I226-LMvP (Intel-PCIe-Ethernet-Controller-Driver_PGVDD_WIN64_2.1.5.4_A01.EXE)
Realtek USB GbE Family Controller (Realtek-USB-GBE-Ethernet-Controller-Driver_4JK0H_WIN64_1156.17.20.1030_A31_01.EXE)
SD25TB4 (DellDockFirmwarePackage_WD19_WD22_HD22_WD25_SD25_01.01.07.exe)
Odd behavior. Will boot up and work OK, then wake up or restart and be Not Connected. Ethernet on laptop itself seems OK, just the one on the smart dock.
On the SD25TB4 dock it has the Intel I226 driver loaded. I have another Latitude 5520 laptop that has worked fine on this dock for months (however it loads the Realtek driver). So I believe the dock itself is OK.
I have older WD19TBS and the Dell Pro 14 works fine with it (using the Realtek driver).
Maybe the Dell Pro 14 on the SD25TB4 should also be using the Realtek driver? Is there a way to point it to that instead of Intel?
Anything else I can try?
