Tower Plus EBT2250, VirtualizationFirmwareEnabled, false

Hello, I'm encountering an issue with virtualization firmware on my XPS Tower Plus EBT2250 Core Ultra 9 285K.

Using the following PowerShell command:

Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Processor | Select-Object Name, VirtualizationFirmwareEnabled, SecondLevelAddressTranslationExtensions

The output is:

Name                                      VirtualizationFirmwareEnabled    SecondLevelAddressTranslationExtensions
----                                      -----------------------------    ---------------------------------------
Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 285K            False                            False

This seems unexpected given that virtualization should be supported on this CPU.

System Info:

  • Device: XPS Tower Plus EBT2250

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro

  • CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285K

  • Result: VirtualizationFirmwareEnabled = False

I've already tried checking UEFI settings (VT-x, VT-d, etc.) and updated BIOS to the latest version. Intel and Dell support responses haven't provided a resolution so far. Is anyone else seeing this on similar models (e.g. XPS 8960)? Any confirmation or guidance from Dell engineers or fellow users would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, usui

I've moved this to the Dell Pro Desktop forum. The EBT2250 is not an XPS but a Dell Pro Desktop.

Hopefully someone with a i9 can give you some details and help.

Follow-up request: If you're using the same model (EBT2250 / Intel Core Ultra 9 285K),
could you please run the following PowerShell command and share the result?

Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Processor | Select-Object Name, VirtualizationFirmwareEnabled, SecondLevelAddressTranslationExtensions

I'm trying to determine whether this issue is specific to my unit or affects the entire hardware line.

Your feedback would be extremely helpful in escalating this to Dell's engineering team. Thanks in advance!
