Tower Plus EBT2250, type of retail RAM required?
I bought the Crucial DDR5 5600MT/s ram, 2 sticks of 32GB. It does not work, although Crucial said it would.
Then I bought Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5600MT/s, 2 sticks of 32 GB, which Micro Center said would work. It does not.
What EXACTLY do I need to purchase for RAM? This is very frustrating.

@Daksund I was able to resolve both issues.
The Bios issue can be resolved by going into System-Recovery - Advanced Startup. When the computer reboots, choose Low Resolution at Startup (not positive how it is worded).
The RAM issue can be resolved by making sure that any RAM you purchase is exactly 5200MHz. In every other computer I'm ever owned or worked on you could purchase faster RAM (ie 5600MHz) and the computer would simply choose to run it at the lower speed, in this case 5200MHz. Dell is different for some reason now. For reference, I used Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200MHz (2x32GB) and it works great. But Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5600MHz does not work, as I found out.

I recently purchased a Dell New Tower Plus desktop (model EBT2250), which came with a single 16GB Hynix DDR5 UDIMM stick. The system boots and runs fine with this original RAM installed.
Wanting to upgrade, I bought a 32GB Crucial DDR5 UDIMM stick. When I install it in the second slot alongside the original 16GB stick, the computer fails to boot. It gets stuck on a black screen that shows the Dell logo and the message:
"Secured with Dell SafeBIOS
DELL"
At this point, I cannot enter the BIOS by pressing F2 or F12—the system just hangs on this screen. Once, I managed to get into the BIOS byholding F2 before powering the system onand continuing to hold it. In the BIOS, I saw that the system recognized 49152MB of DDR5 SDRAM, so it seems the RAM is detected. However, when I exited BIOS, the system once again froze on the same SafeBIOS screen.
Removing the new Crucial 32GB stick allows the system to boot normally again, although BIOS access is still somewhat unreliable. If I remove the original 16GB Hynix stick and try to boot with only the Crucial 32GB installed, I get the same freezing issue.
I did try downloading and installing a bunch of updates and drivers from Dell, and I've also tried removing and putting back in the CMOS battery. I didn't leave it out for 15 minutes though.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@Daksund
First, Dell only tested/validated our shipping OEM memory.
Second, 48GB (16+32) configuration is not supported. This is shown in the online Tower Plus EBT2250 Owner's Manual =

Thanks Chris, between your response and thought of john's, I am optimistic I will be able to figure this out. I did have one last concern though, as far as the voltage of the RAM sticks goes. I noticed that the Corsair Vengeance sticks John link to and said worked on his machine are 1.25 volts, while I believe that the hynix ram stick my machine came with is 1.1 volts. I got the Intel Ultra 7 265 processor, not the unlocked version with the K at the end. I was just wondering if I should get RAM sticks that are capped at 1.1 volts, or if the 1.25 volt Corsair vengeance should work just fine on my machine. I know these are new models of desktops so you might not have a sure answer for me. I appreciate your time!
EDIT: also, this is the same stick my system came with:

Interestingly enough it appears to be 5600mhz.
Here is a picture I took of the ram before I bought the 3wgb crucial stick that shows it's details. Curious what you think about it.

Just ran into this a few minutes ago with a 64GB 6000 kit from g.skill.
Go ahead and pull out your power cord from the power supply.
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds while the power cord is disconnected.
Plug the power cord back in and don’t touch anything.
Computer will turns itself on with a black screen for a few seconds. After that it turns itself off, assuming completing self check.
Hit the power button and windows loaded like a champ. Of course the ram only runs on 4800 as I expected.
If the above method does not work, do expire same thing but remove the I coin battery before you press and hold the power button. Put the coin battery back, plug the power cord in and it should be good to go.
ps: 16Gb +32 Gb should also work, I can test that later today. Just upgraded the new Dell slim tower a couple days ago and worked without a single problem.

@S.Tech9 You mentioned that your RAM speed only runs at 4800. I bought cards that say 5200 MHz but when I check in BIOS it says 4800 MHz. Is this what happened to you? Do you think that the BIOS is intentionally downgrading the speed or do you think it's just the wrong type of RAM card?

Yes, I am 100% sure that’s how it works. Just like the previous model the Dell XPS 8960 desktop. If I open CPU-Z, it shows me what speed and what latency the ram could potentially run on , but the bios locks it down to 4800. I am not stressing about the speed of the ram , because it’s not really effecting the overall performance. I made a video review of the previous model so I was actually expecting the same results.
I am in the process of making a video review of this model. Have you ran into any issues with bitlocker constantly popping up at boot prompting me for entering the key?
There also events where the computer passes the Dell logo and immediately freezes.
it also won’t go into sleep mode. This happens with the original Dell windows installation and original Dell ram. I am
about to clean install the whole thing…

I'm reading that MT/s is not the same as MHz. So the 5200 MT/s that we see in the owner's manual is not equal to 5200 MHz. It's actually equal to half of that, so it's equal to 2600 MHz. Even in CPU-Z under the SPD tab, for Maximum Bandwidth it says: DDR5-5200 (2600 MHz). And then under the Memory tab, for the actual DRAM Frequency it hovers around 2400 MHz. So I'm guessing that since there are 2 cards, then 2400 MHz times 2 = 4800 MHz and that's why I'm seeing that number as my memory speed in BIOS. That's just my guess though. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
One more thing, in Amazon if you go to the Dell Tower Plus EBT2250 product page and ask Rufus (their AI-powered shopping assistant) what the maximum RAM capacity is for it, it says 96 GB.

I'm not sure if that's a mistake or not. Anyone have any idea if the Dell Tower Plus can support 96 GB of RAM?

I just wanted to confirm to anyone interested that the Dell Tower Plus EBT2250 can indeed support 96 GB of RAM. I just received the cards today, plugged them in, and they worked fine. They say that larger RAM cards might make the startup times longer but I didn't notice anything significantly different compared to my 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) setup. I probably won't need 96 GB of RAM but I did notice that during some intensive games that my CPU temperatures did not heat up as much as when I had the 64 GB RAM. I used Core Temp to monitor this. Since lower temperatures will probably be helpful to the longevity of the CPU, I've decided to keep the 96 GB cards. In case anyone is interested these are the exact cards that I got: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BVN11ZRB

@Outlier this is great! Thank for the info! Do you know what speed is it actually running on? 4800 or 5200?

@S.Tech9 According to BIOS it says 4800. If you ever find cards that say anything higher than 4800 then please share it here.

@S.Tech9 Thanks, I forgot to reply to this thread. I wrote about it in another thread but I did find cards that work at 5600 speed. I'm not sure if they're the exact cards that you got but these are the ones that I got: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C79RMMCL

@Daksund I am waiting for delivery of my Intel ultra nine 285K that has 32 gigs ram in it- I will have to look at the parts list when it's delivered and I'll get back to you
did you have any issue adding an additional NVME
