Tower Plus EBT2250, Ethernet Upload and Killer Prioritizer - Dell Tower Plus
I'm sharing this here in case it helps others.
My new Dell Tower Plus was showing an unexpected problem: It would upload via wi-fi at speeds of 41mbps or so just fine, but when I plugged my cat6 ethernet cable in and uploaded, the speed dropped to 1.5 - 2.5mbps. I verified the cable, I tested with my 9-year-old Dell Desktop, everything pointed to the PC. After much searching I came across a post at Reddit and also at Microsoft saying that the Killer software - that came pre-installed and set to always be running - has a known issue and they advise disabling this software. It deals with prioritizing Internet access, and I don't need that, so I disabled it (I right-clicked on Start, then Run "services.msc", scrolled down to all the "Killer" services and set them to "disable" in the Startup prompt. Immediately, my upload speed was 42mbps. Some posts warn that if there is an automatic update of the Killer software, these may need to be disabled again.

By any chance is that Killer software in the Programs/Features list in Control Panel? May be it could be uninstalled for good? I still think they gave that software a poor choice name. Makes me think of a virus/malware.

Good thought... It is not listed in the "Uninstall or change a program" part of Control Panel on my PC.
I agree about the name, too: It makes it difficult to search for information on it and not a bunch of scary news, LOL.

Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support must verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private Tower Plus Service Tag with them. Once verified, they will troubleshoot with you.

Thanks. I don't see a blue "Get Help Now" button, but I went through that process with them and they authorized me to take the PC to a local repair shop, who could find no fault in the hardware. That's when I went searching for help via the Internet.

@DELL-Chris M Thanks, Chris. Using the online support, we now have Killer disabled from Startup. They agreed this was the best course of action for this situation.
