Tower Plus EBT2250, Dell Pro Keyboard and Mouse, wake from SLEEP.

It doesn't seem to want to wake from Sleep, at least reliably?

I checked all the USB ports to make sure the PC can power them off to save power, and changed the ones that allowed it. Especially the only one that can wake the PC.

It seems I can do it if I use the Right Mouse Button Start menu and the Shut down Power Off 'sleep' choice. It works once the Screen Saver starts. Jiggle the mouse, it seems to work.

However I left the PC alone for over and hour and it can't be woken up?

This is what the Power Setting is:

On my XPS8940, this is the power setting:

Note it, the XPS8940, came with more than one Power Plan, Tower only 1. What seems to be different between the Tower and the 8940 is this setting :

I tried on the Tower to create a NEW Power Plan, and the USB setting never appears?

Wonder if this plays into it or is it the KM5221W Wireless Keyboard and Mouse that is the issue?

In that same Window, you should find USB Selective Suspend.  Set to Never.

I see my comments above I misplaced the 8940 screen capture with USB Select Suspend... I've corrected the post.

So I can't do that as there is no selection.

Maybe it is a Registry Setting, but I couldn't find it? It appears to be part of a Windows Driver? So why does my XPS8940 Win 11 24H2 have it?

* Perhaps because the 2020 XPS 8940 hardware and chipset are different than the 2025 Tower Plus EBT2250 hardware and chipset.

Yes, I suspected that as well. XPS8500, different Chipset has it though?

I've recovered the OS mostly, has some problems I had to correct.

Didn't get everything back, but I didn't add much to lose. Set me back a little bit.

Will check the new BIOS after I get all the needed updates.

I am sure they are different, all CPU's have for the most part, in different models, no versions, have a different chipset. The root question is this the reason the USB device can't wake up the PC?
