Tower Plus EBT2250, Dell part# for 265k cooling tower

I want to provide additional cooling for my 265 cpu, so I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with a very helpful Dell sales agent. He provided me with the Dell part number for the cooling tower for the 265K cpu: CPX-C253W (called a CPU heat sink assembly). It’s priced at $59.99. It is scheduled to be delivered on October 16. After I receive it, I’ll confirm that it fits.

it is same premium tower cooler for XPS 8950/8960 LGA1700 socket which shares same cooler mounting distance with LGA1851 for Intel Ultra cpu in Pro PC.

LGA1851 uses the same dimensions and cooler mounting hole spacing as LGA 1700, ensuring continued CPU cooler compatibility.

I just installed the tower cooler and it works great. My Cinebench  readings went from 105°C to 80°C after installing it.

@Richmond Dan I like the mounting system of the C253W, but I would like to install a Noctua fan. Do you know the size of the fan?

No, the fan is sandwiched between radiator fins on both sides, so you can’t really see the fan.  I have a very similar Noctua tower cooler on my 8940 and I don’t really see any significant difference. Not sure why you want a Noctua fan.

There is a newer premium air cooler Dell reserved for FCT2250 pro max which can replace the older C253W.  Amazon claims it is 180w.

@redxps630

This Post was about the Tower Plus EBT2250. Not the FCT2250? Are you speculating that T4G2X would work in the Tower Plus EBT2250?

Yes I think T4G2X will work in EBT2250.

This is a newer high end premium cooler and may be difficult to order from Dell directly but is available on Amazon.

having said that, Dell has not validated it in EBT and such use is considered off label.
