Tower ECT1250, Windows 11 Recovery USB

On receipt of my new dell Tower ECT1250 computer I was unable to create a Windows 11 recovery disk. The Dell would not allow this Windows procedure. Apparently Dells proprietary motherboard and bloat ware would not recognize my USB for this procedure. After hours of searching for a solution, I finally contacted Dell Customer support. After15 minutes of going through the automated system I finally was speaking to a representative. He advised that the Windows 11 process for creating a recovery USB would not work and provided the following which worked for me.

What you need:

·      An internet connection (internet service provider fees may apply).

·      A blank USB flash drive with at least 16GB of space. (Backup the data on USB Flash drive as it will be formatted during the process).

·      Sufficient data storage available on a computer for the download.

1.  Navigate to the following website:  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

2.  Download the MediaCreationTool.exe by clicking on "Download tool now" link then select Run. You need to be an administrator to run this tool.

3.  On the License terms page, review the license terms and select Accept.

4.  Select "Create installation media for another PC"

5.  Select the Language, Edition and Architecture (WINDOWS 11 HOME THEN 64 BIT)

6.  Select the media type in which you would like to copy the Windows image and click Next. (Select USB FLASH/PEN DRIVE)

7.  The Download process will start. You can use your system while the download happens in the background.
