Slim ECS1250, how to add a second SSD drive, NVMe-PCIe adapter

I have read several threads on how to add a second SSD drive to a Dell Slim ECS1250.

Initially, I had the same problem and realized that there were no cables (power/SATA) included and no drive bay was included either. Furthermore, a special power cable was required.

However, I then realized the you could easily add another NVMe SSD drive by using an NVMe-PCIe adapter and then simply inserting it into the PCIE x16 slot (yes, I wasn't really up-to-date on that possibility, I found it searching on the Internet). That's what I did. It's much faster than SATA and a much cleaner installation (does not require any extra cables or a drive bay).

Clearly, this is the preferred solution, unless you want to use the PCIE x16 slot for something else, like a graphics card, but then you need to upgrade the PSU...

By the way, I think Dell should clearly state which slots are EXPANSION slots in the specifications for this computer. It looks like there is an extra NVME slot, when, in fact, it is already occupied by the system drive.

Dell Slim ECS1250 is a fine computer. Small and fast. Great for office usage.

"I then realized that you could easily add another NVMe SSD drive by using an NVMe-PCIe adapter". Sorry for the typo.
