Dell Intel UHD/Iris Xe Graphics Driver Fails to Install (File Extraction Error)
When attempting to install the new Intel video driver provided via Dell, the install fails at the point of file extraction. Dell is claiming it's an ESET (third party anti-malware) issue, but I don't see anything in the ESET logs to indicate the file was blocked or otherwise flagged.
I started a thread on the ESET forum which contains the Dell install log details (showing the error), Dell's initial response to me, and provides additional details:
I don't believe this is an issue with anti-malware - the file extraction itself fails before the actual install begins for the video driver. (Also note I had immediately successfully installed the new Intel RST driver, so again the anti-malware conflict doesn't make much sense.)
Also I will note that the new video driver was available as an optional Windows update and installed without issue.
Any chance Dell engineers can look at the ESET thread and <To protect you, your private information was removed from public view. All private data was saved to your private Case. DELL-Admin> to come up with a solution?
