Unable to discover one server

Hello,

I've installed OME 2.0.0.1926 on a VM running Windows 2008 R2.  All seems to be working OK apart from being unable to discover the host (2008 R2 DataCenter) that the VM resides in.

I've followed the advice in the http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/systems-management/w/wiki/3265.openmanage-essentials-faq faq, double and triple checked my SNMP settings on the service, firewall settings, network discover and they all match OK.

OMSA is definitely installed and is reporting the server heath as good.

The troubleshooting tool reports this which I believe is fine:-

What do you think I could be missing?

Hi,

Thanks for your post.

Looks like SNMP connectivity is fine from OME to the Server.

Few more things to look:

1. Is the Server getting classified under unknown devices or not appearing at all?

2. What is the result of ICMP test in troubleshooting tool?

Thanks,
Vijay

Hello,

1.  It is not listed in the unknown devices list

2.  It is unpingable.

Many thanks!

Hi,

All sorted, got the ICMP ping working and it's now discovered and inventoried.
