Unable to associate the device for this alert

I have set an exclusion range for the discovery of some label printers we have. This does not seem to stop their discovery and as a result, we get authentication errors from these devices. When I try to choose not to be notified of this from these devices I get the error " Unable to associate the device for this alert".

Please advise how to stop the reporting of errors from these devices or even not discover them in the first place.

Hi James,

The purpose of exclude ranges is to make sure that IP range does not get discovered in discovery cycles. It does not stop OME from receiving alerts from the device. If you don't want all the alerts from a device, then you can right click on the alert which is received in alerts page and then select the option of "Ignore all from this device". This should not show you the alerts any more.

For the exclude ranges part, are you saying that you can still see the device in device tree? Can you try deleting the device from device tree, make sure there is an added exclude range and then perform discovery again. Let us know if it helps.

The devices are not in the tree. I am just getting alerts. When I try to right click and ignore I get an error.

Hi James,

When you tried to Ignore the alerts, which option did you choose? You would have seen 3 options there.

There are multiple options. It does not matter which one. I did not choose to ignore this alert from all devices, as I do want these alerts from the servers.

Unfortunately this is a known problem with OME 2.0.1 and it has been fixed in OME 2.1 which is going to release very soon. An upgrade should fix this problem

Hopefully a week or so....keep an eye on delltechcenter.com/ome and this forum.

Thanks. Is there any idea of release date? This is stopping us from using the server as all devices are sending snmp alerts and we cannot turn off the ones we do not wish to have alert us.
