TL4000 Tape Library and OME 2.0.1
Ive got OME all up and running with regards to discovery, alerts etc. My question is how do i get detail on my alerts for my TL4000 as i do for my Dell servers.
E.g.
Date:15/10/2015, Time:09:44:51, Severity:Warning, Message:Temperature sensor detected a warning value Sensor location: System Board Inlet Temp Chassis location: Main System Chassis Previous state was: Unknown Temperature sensor value (in Degrees Celsius): 17.0
instead of
Time:08:49:08, Severity:Warning, Message:Device tl4000.highway-glass.co.uk has changed status to Warning.
Thanks

Hi and thanks for the post.
The generic warning message looks like just a 'state change alert' and not an SNMP trap.
Are you certain you've gone into the TL4000 GUI to fill in the field that directs SNMP traps to the IP address of the OME server?
Thanks!

Ok...so I am assuming that IP is the address of your OME server.
By the way, best you go back into that jpg and mask the IP address. Even though it is likely an internal ip, the forum police might go in and clobber the image for your safety if you don't :)
So does the tape UI have a way to send a test trap? Or can you initiate some activity on the library to generate a trap?
You might also run the Dell Troubleshooting tool and click on one of the tabs that has a trap listener test. You can see if the test alerts are coming in to that screen to help isolate the trouble.
Thanks,
Rob

Yes it is and yes internal (thanks for the heads up)
It doesnt have a way to send a test trap, think i'll upgrade the firmware to latest version and see what that will let me do
The test tool is useful and shows ok
Thanks for the help
