Hi,
Can someone pls let me know how to run the command line interface in OME so that a server can be shutdown gracefully?
Thx,
John Bradshaw

Hi John,
Thanks for your post!
Under Manage > Remote Task, you can create a power task selecting any of "Reboot, Power Cycle & Power Off" with "Shutdown OS first" option as checked. This "Shutdown OS first" will actually Gracefully shutdown the operating system before executing any power task.
For more you can also refer to below whitepaper:

Hope this helps!
Thanks

Hi Ranveer,
I was able to do a remote update of a driver using OME, but the Shutdown task from OME to the same server comes back as "The task did not receive a response from the target device."
So I am not sure where to troubleshoot from here.
Any ideas?
Thx,
John Bradshaw

Hi,
This is still not working.
I noticed on the final page that the Enter Credentials of the Remote Target asks for domain/username.
Will this work with the DRAC root credentials or is it wanting Windows credentials for the remote target??
Thx,
JB

Hi JB,
All the power task commands except Power ON works on the OS. So, you will be needed to provide the OS credentials after discovering the OS. Only Power ON command runs on RAC which can be done by providing RAC credentials.
