Results: Unable to fetch selected device(s) information

When trying to deploy System Updates, I will sometimes get the following error:

"Results: Unable to fetch selected device(s) information from database. Please retry the task after some time."

Sometimes trying again the next day is successful.  What is causing this error?

Agiuoco,

Would you clarify a few things for me?

What server are you seeing the issue with?

What OS is installed?

What specific update package are you using, and where are you running it from?

Let me know and we can move forward.

Hi Chris,

I have seen this on 4 different servers.  I am trying to update the BIOS by creating a System Update Task.  2 of the servers were installing the BIOS update through OMSA.  The other 2 were installing the update through the iDRAC.

All of the servers are running Windows 2012 R2.  The server models are M610, R520, and M630.

Are these systems considerably behind in there current update versions?

Hi Chris,

It varies.  Some of the servers were major versions behind on the BIOS update.  Going from 1.2.6 to 2.7.1 for example.  But others only were minor versions behind.  6.4.0 to 6.5.0 for example.

Are you seeing the same error/issue if you try to update through the Lifecycle Controller with the FTP, or with the ISO?

I was able to update the BIOS by using the EXE on the server (Windows 2012).

I didn't try FTP through LCC.
