REST API lists deleted devices

First, sorry if this been posted before. I couldn't find out how to search the forum.

I have a problem with the REST API for OpenManage Essentials. When we initially set up OME, we did full scans of our ip-ranges, but we've decided to only add specific machines and I have since then deleted all the devices that the initial scans added.

In the OME interface I only see the few devices are interested in (basically only iDRAC's and Dell storage), but my scripts polling the REST API still lists every device we had before. I've verified this by browsing to the /api/OME.svc/Devices and there's hundreds of devices when we only have a handful in the OME GUI.

When I deleted the devices from OME, i selected them under "All Devices", right clicked and choose "Delete". Is there anything else you need to do to completely remove them from inventory or is the REST API just very bugged?

Grateful for anwers,

Anders

Hi Anders,

Thanks for the query.

The steps you performed to delete a device are perfectly fine, nothing else is needed to be done. I would ask you to perform a small test. Pick up a service tag from the REST response which you are very sure has been deleted, and, search for it in OME GUI. Let us know of your findings.

Hi Anders,

You can now delete a device remotely also with OpenManage Essentials v2.4. Please refer the REST API guide here: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/openmanage-essentials-v2.4/manuals
