RACADM remote task: Unable to connect to RAC at specified IP address
Hi all,
As described in the white paper on this link, I would like to change the iDrac configuration remotely (dns servers, dns rack name etc.).
According to several websites, the task target in the command line task should be target to the Drac/iDrac device or RAC group.
The whitepaper describes the steps to configure the custom device group with the query: Device Type is RAC and Device Model contains iDRAC. This is needed to run the task against the ip of iDRAC.
Unfortunately, I am not getting any results in OME. No servers are displayed.
Running the task against the RAC group or choosing target server(s) will result in failing the job. The reason is that it tries to connect to the IP of the machine, but the IP for RACADM needs to be an iDRAC IP.
Does anyone now how to run the command line task in OME against an IP of iDRAC instead of the ip of the OS?
idrac 7 and 8 is used

Hi, thanks for the query.
There is no need to create a separate group for running this task. You need to select targets present under RAC (built-in) group. When you do so and task still fails, what details do you see in execution history?
