Question about OME System Update - Download package ### onto the iDRAC

Dear Colleague,

I have a question about OME System Update.

When I execute Firmware Update via OME System Update(iDRAC out-of band update)

The Log message shows " Downloading Package: SAS-RAID_Firmware_VH28K_WN32_25.4.0.0017_A06.EXE onto the iDRAC"

and, When I reboot the server, the LifeCycle Controller automatically executed, and firmware update proceeded.

My Question is, where is the firmware update file downloaded and capacity?

My concern is, when I update multiple Firmware at one time, capacity limit should happen.

Hi,

This is an interesting question,

i like to know the answer too.

My gues is that it's not downloaded as a bundle but part for part into the memory and then installed one update at the time. The software is pulled from the repository.

When you follow the process you will see that it does it sequential. i don't think you have to worry about storage running full.

But plz correct me if i am wrong.

Hi Peter, Thanks for comment.

Please refer screenshot

We can find two update packages are downloaded to iDRAC and waiting for the next rebooting.

My understanding is, the iDRAC store several update packages.

Hi,

looks that you are correct, then the most likely place that it is stored is i think de iDRAC flash drive.
