OpenManage Essentials on SQL 2017 Essentials ....
Trying to install OpenManage Essentials 2.4 on a brand new server. I've installed SQL Express 2017 on the local server as well, but when i try to connect it, OpenManage gives me an error that i need SQL Express 2008 R2 SP1 or later..
umm.. I do have it installed..
any ideas ?

Hello
If you go to the OpenManage Essentials support page there is a support matrix. It lists the specific databases that are supported for the version of OME you are using.

Hi,
You need to have SQLEXPRESSOME named instance while installing SQL Server Express edition to work with OME on the same machine. If you SQL installation is on a separate machine, you can use any instance name while installing SQL Server.
