OMSE - No health status over SNMP

I've recently began configuring an OMSE server and adding OMSA servers in to the environment, where I am able to create a discovery range and configure the range to discover over SNMP. OMSE is version 2.1.0.2635 and OMSA is version 8.2. I've followed the tutorial in open manage essentials to configure SNMP on 3 of the 18 servers that I've added to discovery ranges, but so far only one of these is reporting health status. 2 are on the same subnet, but in different geographical locations and a third is in another country and on a different subnet. All sites are connected via MPLS. If I run the troubleshooting tool, the 2 on the same subnet will report more information about the server, with device ukd reporting health status in OMSE, but frd which is in the separate subnet reports only the name of the device. Can anyone help me?

Hi,  FRD is the server you have mentioned in your first post.

I feel this is something to do with your OMSA installation.  I would request you to open a support ticket on 800-945-3355 . This will help our engineer to take a deeper look and possibly rectify your problem.

I would also advise you to inventory the iDRAC's using WS-MAN. That is the starting point when using OME.

What models are the servers you are querying through SNMP and what is the OS?

Hi,

From the troubleshooting tool screen for FRD, it seems there can be issue in the OMSA installation or OMSA services running on the system. Can you check the following on the server FRD?

1. SNMP component was selected while installing OMSA (in case it is custom installation)

2. The Data Manager service of the OMSA is running on the Sever.

Thanks,
Vijay

As suggested in previous post, can you double the OMSA installation/services on the server where you are not getting health status. We are suspecting this based on the Troubleshooting screens shared by you which is clearly showing the server not responding to OMSA SNMP interface on the affected server.

Thanks,
Vijay

The models vary between 2950s and r720s and the OS is either Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2 or 2012.

Okay, I'm not sure what FRD is?

1. I've uninstalled and reinstalled OMSA, doing a custom installation and selected all options for SNMP support of the different NIC manufacturers. SNMP was also selected as an option.

2. Couldn't find the Data Manager service on the OMSA server.

After this, when I use the Dell troubleshooting tool to check the SNMP status on the server CHE, I get less information, only the MIB-II (System Name).
