OME: Warranty information is not accurate
OME version 2.0.1.2222
A system that has an extended warranty that expires in 2016 (as verified from Dell website and Dell rep) shows up as warranty expired. This system shows up in the email warranty notification.
A system that has an expired warranty is listed as such in the warranty information report, but does not come out in the email warranty notification.
The warranty notification settings have the "include devices with expired warranties" enabled.
The system has Internet access, I can pull the catalog down, etc. The warranty information doesn't make any sense to me at all.
Ideas? Am I missing something?
Thanks!

Hello there and thanks for the post.
Is it possible to open a ticket at 800-945-3355? The reason is that we really need the Service Tag to troubleshoot these warranty report questions, and you can't post those on the forum.
There might be a warranty test in the troubleshooting tool that would be good to compare against as well.
Thanks,
Rob

Yes - actually it was really interesting.
So on this particular server we had extended the warranty. But it turns out there are two parts to a warranty renewal: parts and service. Somehow we had managed to renew the parts, but not the service. As it turns out OME checks for both... so it knew that we were missing the service warranty.
I was on the phone with the Dell techs for about and hour, and they did a really awesome job tracking this down. So in the end OME did the proper job, we actually had a problem with our warranty and didn't know it.
The OME team offered to figure out a way to filter this (I suspect this went on a bug list or feature list for future development) but we declined and decided to work things out with our Sales rep to get the service warranty restored.
For the OME team - awesome job, thanks. Adding some filtering options here would be great, or at least some better visibility into WHY the alert has been triggered.
I hope this helps you with your issue - good luck!
