OME OpenManage Essentials First ever system update failed
Hi All!
I've just tried my first ever system update of a server and it failed. Any thoughts, error is below..
Results:
Using iDRAC IP address:10.44.1.16
Verifying Connectivity/Credentials: OK
Checking the status of LifeCycle Controller: Unable to get the status of LifeCycle Controller. Possibly older generation of iDRAC.
Assuming LifeCycle Controller is ready and proceeding further.
Downloading Packages.
Calling InstallFromUri method to Download packages to the iDRAC
Downloading Package: ESM_Firmware_0F12K_WN32_1.99_A00.EXE onto the iDRAC
Package download has successfully started and the Job ID is JID_001445854718
The URI given to the iDRAC to download from: 10.44.1.15/.../ESM_Firmware_0F12K_WN32_1.99_A00.EXE
Checking the Status on the following Job(s): JID_001445854718
The JOBID JID_001445854718 has failed with the following message:
Package verification failed.
MessageID: RED007
Download Error occured.
Package ESM_Firmware_0F12K_WN32_1.99_A00.EXE failed to download on target device. Update failed.
Software Update Task Failed.

What was the server model you are trying to update and what is the current firmware version of the iDRAC and LifeCycle controller?
The minimum firmware requirements are in documentation support mtarix:

You should go to 1.80 first. Then to 1.99.

HI Wayne,
Im trying to update a server from idrac 1.54 to 1.99. Using Skip Signature and Hash Check did not help either. What is the minimum version? Any other ideas?

Thanks for the update. OK, I can do this however the server cannot see OME server via the LAN only communication is via idrac.
What is best way to update a servers idrac and Lifecycle firmware? Servers are remote to me and I cannot just plug in a dvd on 100's of servers for example. I tried to update the idrac firmware of remote server via the remote servers idrac on my OME server but took ages then just didn't update.
