OME installation fails

I had to rebuild my management server and so therefore had to reinstall OME.

I am unable to install OME using a remote sql db.  Fails every time.  Gets as far as Publishing in IIS, then goes to Removing from IIS and gives me a failed installation message.  Nothing specific.  It just won't work unless I install with a local db, which I do not want to do.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Can you take a look at the install log located at C:\Windows\Temp\InstallUtil.log

I was finally able to install the product and get it up and running, but only if I used a local sql db.  The installation failed when I pointed it to my remote sql db.

However, now I cannot get the web page to open when I open it from my desktop.  I just get a blank page after the wheel spins.

Thanks!

Hi Sorry for the inconvenience.

Can you check following

1. When you open web page in desktop, is that ip address/hostname (OME host/ip address) added to local intranet/trusted sites?

2. Do you see any exceptions in Event viewer of OME server? (Event Viewer -> Applications and Service Logs ->Dell OpenManage)

3. Are you able to launch OME website in the OME server itself ? (locally)

Thanks,

Arun

Hello,

  1.  The DNS is resolving properly from my desktop.  I have tried to open with both server name or IP address.  I get prompted for my login credentials which are accepted, but then . . .nothing, blank screen.

  2.   Event Viewer on server has a lot of informational entries that read:  REST Services:  Global.asax.Session_Start() and REST Services:  Global.asax.Session_End().  Also, RESTAPI:  All Devices Requested.  Nothing else other than these three entries show up in the Event Viewer under Dell OpenManage.

3.   It opens up on the server itself without issue.  Windows Firewall is disabled (on both my workstation and the server).  My security settings on my browser are wide open, no blocking of anything.

  Thank you!
