OME firewall ports
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if the insecure protocols such as HTTP and TELNET are required for OME? Or are they just listed for legacy support?
I'd prefer to only use HTTPS and SSH for my deployment if possible.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers,

Hi Ben,
The discovery/inventory of Servers (iDRAC/Host OS) works with wsman (idrac), snmp (with OMSA agent), wmi (windows without OMSA agent), ssh (linux without OMSA agent).
There is very limited use of HTTP protocol in case you have few Dell Networking switches, in that case application launch URL will be http based only.

Hi Vijay,
How to disable Telnet on Dell OME?
I am running Dell OME on windows server 2012 R2, I don't see Telnet on services.
Thanks.

It can be done using Windows add / remove features in control panel.

The strange part is telnet server or client both are not installed, either I don't see in the services.msc but Nessus is still detecting as unencrypted services running on this host.

Same exact issue for me. Trying to find and disable the unencrypted telnet service that Tenable/Nessus identified. Telnet features in the OS are not installed.
Issue ended up being the DSM BMU SQL Proxy Service for my system.
