Hi Adnan,

What do you mean when you say push configurations? Do you want to configure alert settings, username credentials and NTP server details on multiple iDRACs?

If that is the question, then yes, you can configure these settings through ServerConfiguration feature of OME. Please note that this is a licensed feature.

Correct. We want configuration of iDrac same across all servers in the datacenter.

Which Generation servers we can use this features. We have 10g, 11g and few 13g servers

We use iDrac Enterprise. We still need to buy the license for that ?

Hi,

This feature can be used on 12G and 13G servers. Regarding license - Yes, this requires a separate OME license to be installed on the iDRAC.

Overall, the following is the target server requirements:

  1. For Dell’s 12th generation PowerEdge servers, the minimum supported version of iDRAC is 1.57.57.
  2. For Dell’s 13th generation PowerEdge servers, the minimum supported version of iDRAC is 2.0
  3. ‘Server configuration for OpenManage Essentials’ license installed on the iDRAC. This is a separate license from the iDRAC license.
  4. iDRAC Enterprise or iDRAC Express license. This is a separate license from the ‘Server
    configuration for OpenManage Essentials’ license.

You can find more information about this feature "Deployment and Managing Configurations
with Dell OpenManage Essentials"
whitepaper. There are bunch of videos also @ http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/systems-management/w/wiki/1989.openmanage-essentials.

Thanks,
Vijay
