OME and client update catalog
Hi,
Possibly a really dumb question, but can't find an explicit answer:
Can OME update firmware and drivers on Optiplexs, Latitudes, etc or only monitor them? An Optiplex 9010 with OMCI installed (and a nice green tick in Devices) that I know has an out of date BIOS doesn't appear in OMEs Non-compliant systems list.
I'm using ftp://ftp.dell.com/catalog/catalog.cab as my online source.
If only monitor, is SCUP my only option? Had some bad experiences recently with the Dell catalog breaking my WSUS (recreatable, but haven't got the time at the moment to go through it all again and report it properly).
Thanks
Gary

Hi there.
No worries. Right, so for Opti/Lati we only do a bit of inventory and monitoring. There is a pretty decent whitepaper on delltechcenter.com/ome under the title of Client something....So check that out.
The rollup health indicator is just for hardware health, not patch compliance.
Hope that helps,
Rob

Thanks, Rob.
Don't suppose there's anything planned to extend OMCI to include patching? Would be really handy to keep all my Dell patching in the same place.
