OME 2.1 WSMan Credentials

We have many different generation of Dell servers that we want to bring into OME and because of this servers have different iDRAC credentials.  How do I setup device discovery on a subnet so that I can scan every server with more than one credential? I cannot create a duplicate discovery range for the second set of credentials, as the wizard state I already have that range created.

You could add additional users to the DRACs that have a standardized user/password.

Hi,

Thanks for the post and the details.

Yes, OME will do a validation if new discovery range being added is same as existing discovery range.

But to solve your problem there are multiple options:

1. Try splitting the range having different credentials like below:

a. 10.10.1.1-50 (with one set of iDRAC credentials)

b. 10.10.1.51-60 (with second set of iDRAC credentials)

c. 10.10.1.61-70 (with third set of iDRAC credentials) and so on.

2. If the IP addresses are pretty random and the above approach cannot be used, try using import option in discovery wizard (CSV with "Name" column with IPAddress in it) as below:

a. Import CSV1 and provide one set of iDRAC credentials with CSV containing IPs as below:
Name
10.10.1.1
10.10.1.33
10.10.1.49
b. Import CSV2 and provide second set of iDRAC credentials with CSV containing IPs as below:
Name
10.10.1.2
10.10.1.23
10.10.1.40

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks
Vijay
