OME 2.1 discover and update ML and MD

OME supports firmware updates only on servers. It cannot perform updates on PowerVault MD array devices directly. They can be done through OME only if they are connected to a server.

In that case, you do not need to open different ports for upgrading MD or ML. It will stay the same as it is for server's system update. Please go through the UserGuide for the needed port details, this depends on the update method you have chosen for update whether iDRAC or OMSA update method.

Thanks I use out of band or idrac for pushing updates. I have ports opened for that as Im already updating servers through OME 2.1

so OME 2.1 cant even discover ML6030 ? and MD1200

Hi,

You can find the supported MD arrays in OME support matrix. The MD arrays that do not have a management IP cannot be discovered in OME.

You should be able to upgrade the firmware of a server through OME if it is showing up in comparison report.
