OME 2.1 and Dell Compellent SC4020

Hi,

actually I'm trying to discover all of our lab devices within OME 2.1. EQL Arrays and servers are fine, but I'm not able to discover the SC4020, it will always be unclassified.

Maybe its a problem with the new firmware 6.7.2 that we installed on our SC4020 to evaluate LiveVolume with transparent failover?

When using Troubleshooting Tool I get only the Serialnumber of the controller, no additional information.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Regards

Jan-Oliver

I took a screenshot of the test a few seconds ago. As you can see, no controller version is reported.

Thanks for the update!

Did you try SNMP test of Dell Troubleshooting tool against this unit? What version of the controller does it report?

Hi Shivendra,

I worked through this thread, SNMP traps are set to v2. Community names are spelled correct and I double-checked case sensitivity.

Thanks for the update!

The troubleshooting output clearly suggests that the Compellent storage agent is not found on the specified target. This could be an issue with the firmware that you currently have on storage device. I would suggest you to update to the latest firmware and see if the issue gets resolved. Before that, please ensure that the device is properly configured and enabled for SNMP discovery and verify all related settings.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

I configured my storage using the configuration guide for Compellent and OME.

I can not install any newer firmware for this, because it is already a beta firmware and the next version will be released at around 20.11.2015. Maybe you could check internally or with the developers, if this is a bug.

Thanks for the update!

Another link which can help you in confirming that settings related to management using SNMP protocol are fine:
