From 3 days I am try to do something with OMSA, and really I cannot understand various things, but now I have only one question.

I executed search device by IP, and okay they are there, but I have a big difference between information catured by one and other device. I want to say this

For onre of them I have many information as O.S, Source of data, Information f NIC, Information RAC, Firmaware, etc. This have a green checkbox with a okay check in his group.

FOr other device just I have this information, sumari of device s and Information NIC, Also this have in his group a diamond with a question mark,

Well someone can help and tell me why this difference  between same devices?

Best regards.

Hi,

Thanks for your post and installing OME!

But before we get started, i have few questions here;

1. What's the OME version you have?

2. Which protocol did you used to perform discovery? Device IP(Server or iDRAC)? Server Model?

3. Does both servers have OMSA installed?

4. In which group both devices were classified? ("Server", "Unknown"..etc)

Just a point here which can help you to understand what's the differentiator between two devices.

The device which shows up as green has OMSA installed and OME is able to monitor it correctly. And what you see as a green icon is the health of your device, which means the device is normal and along with it OME will be able to fetch other information tables as well via OMSA.

Whereas, the other device which shows up as "question mark", means OME is not able to communicate to the server to get the health and other details of the server. (It could be because one of these reasons : public community is not set correctly, firewall is on, omsa not installed, omsa services are not running, incorrect credentials provided for discovery..etc).

Hope this helps!

Also to start with, i would recommend you to have a look at the discovery & inventory\monitor whitepaper at below link which will be useful to get started with.
