Monitoring drives on an H200
I have a T110 II on which I've just installed and configured an H200 RAID controller. I'd like to set up monitoring and notification, so I can keep an eye on the drives' status.
How would I configure this and, once configured, how would I test the notifications?
Thanks,

Hi Jeff,
So when you install OME on your OME server, you can discover the target server with the RAID controller and it will monitor it.
The managed node (target server) should have OMSA on it if you are discovering the in-band (OS) IP address. Or you discover the iDRAC ip address and that works as well.
Thanks,
Rob

Right...it might not be exactly what you want but last time I was playing with that kind of thing on OMSA I would go to the temperature adjust settings and move the slider down so it generated a temp alert. Then moved it back once it came across :)

Yes, I have OMSA installed on the host—but there doesn't appear to be a way to test the notifications. Configuring monitoring and notification seems pretty easy, but testing them is a different matter. "An untested solution is not a solution at all."
That's why I was considering OME—I was hoping for a way to test. But the 4GB RAM requirement leaves it out of my reach.
I'll probably have to seek out an OMSA forum for this question.

That could work for some things, yes.
