Is there a how to documentation on migrating of locally I installed SQLexpress backend for OME 2.2 to an external SQL12?

Hi, thanks for the query.

This can be done by backing up existing database and then restoring it on a new target instance. Once database is up on new instance, OME can be re-targeted on it by failing the login on current instance and then providing new instance details in OME UI. Please refer following white paper for more details.

Thank you for the information and link to OME guide.   Can you validate if we should install SQL12 or SQL14 for our OME install version: 2.2.0.2056

OME 2.2 supports both the versions. You can use one as per your convenience. Our recommendation would be to use the greater one (SQL Server 2014).

Following the instructions outline in the OpenManage Essentials database,  I have successfully installed and restored OMEssentials Database.   However, when attempting to retarget OME to the new SQL, we are getting connection issues.  Are there additional documentation that can help with OME to SQL connections issues?

What error are you getting, possible to share the screenshot?

I hope the DB user credentials have "db_owner" role enabled on the target database.
