Max devices in free version
Hello,
What is a max number of servers and switches that can be connected to free version of Open Manage Essentials?
I can remember that some time ago there was a training about OME and trainer said something about limits for free version. As I can recall it was something like 15 servers and 10 switches...
Now i'm planning at my customer site new deployment with total 14 switches (N4000 and N2000), 6 R730 servers, CPL storage and some other stuff, but i have to be 100% sure if there's a limit about free version of OME.
Best regards
Jacek

Hi Jacek and thanks for the post.
There are some details on the new release of OME on delltechcenter.com/ome
It looks like in the notes it brings support up to around 5500 devices.
Check the doc on whether the switch models are supported. But you should be ok on number of devices.
Regards,
Rob

Hello Rob,
I've already checked everything google has give me and checked the DellTechCenter. Docs are just marketing talk with no real info about licensing. Tech support also doesn't know limitations for free OME. :|
Best regards

Hi Jacek,
Right, so I'm hitting the Documentation link from the delltechcenter.com/ome page. It takes me here:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/dell-openmanage-essentials-v2.2/manuals
And you should be able to pull up the Support Matrix to check the hardware models.
OME is free for any number of devices for the "core" features (e.g., disc/monitor/alerts/updates). But there is a license for Server Configuration type features.
Give it a go, if you run into a licensed feature on the server config screens, it will tell you.
Thanks!
Rob
