Manage Devices - naming
Greetings -
Under MANAGE | DEVICES I can see what I want and need. However, I have changed the names of iDracs in LCC and iDrac console on my systems - yet the new scans are not changing the names in OME.
Any thoughts/input of what I may be missing would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the query.
Which protocol are you using to discover the iDRACs in OME (WSMAN or SNMP)? Does iDRAC reset after changing the name and before re-discovering help?

We've been using WSMAN. OME isn't picking up the name change from the iDrac or LCC console when I make the change from the server directly.

Does iDRAC reset help to resolve this?
Alternatively, please get in touch with Dell Support to take a closer look.

What exactly is the effect of doing a RESET on the iDRAC? Does the idrac need to be completely reconfigured or does this RESET just do a "warm boot" for this device?

It does a soft reset to reboot the iDRAC.
