Hello,

My new server R440 is unkown in the report of OMSE.

This server is host IP connected (not idrac) and can be connected with mstsc from the OMSE server.

I have used  : WMI discovery and set admin / password

But it still a unkown server ...

Any Help is welcome,

Thks

Hello

The format for the user/pass is listed in the OMEssentials manual. The manual also advises that you can use wbemtest from Microsoft to test the WMI connection.

http://www.dell.com/openmanagemanuals/

If you continue to have issues make sure the OS installed on the R440 is supported. Also, OMSA needs to be installed in the host OS, not a VM.

Thanks

This what I did, and I have failed only for windows 2016.

With the troubleshooting tools I get  : Failed to connect to Windows Name Space

I've found this : https://serverfault.com/questions/607102/what-is-the-workaround-for-wmi-remote-connection-failure-with-access-denied-erro

Add when I create the key, I've now access to the server from troubleshooting tools and it show me :

MAC Address 1 D0:94:66:XXXXXX
MAC Address 2 D0:94:66:XXXXXX
Windows NameSpace Present
Dell Server Agent NameSpace Present
IPMI NameSpace Present

But with OME my inventory  is still unknown ... I think I have succeed to connect but it  seems that it miss something else on the server 2016 ...

There isn't much with the OMessentials or OMSA configuration with WMI. I think this is a WMI configuration or security issue within the OS. I found another forum post on Microsoft's site that is similar to the one you found.

Thanks

To get  it work I had to do this :

WMI :

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
  • create or modify 32-bit DWORD: LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy
  • set the value to: 1

OMSA : omconfig system invcol action=enable

SNMP : install and configure the service

OME tell that my system is conform but how can I verify what it checks actually .. I still have hardware unkown on my system -> https://pasteboard.co/HvKRzVi.png

And the Integrity status is RED for Server Administrator data source like if it couldn't perform his overview ...

this is the link he try to connect : https://IP:1311/?authType=ntlm&locallogin=true&application=omsa

When I test this directly on the OME browser : I can connect the server ..
