iDrac licenses for OME server configuration
Hi all,
I've got some servers with iDrac 8 Enterprise connected to OME. I'm wanting to have a play with the server configuration stuff. I got a trial license and then proper pricing for:
Server Configuration for OpenManage Essentials
This seems to do what I want, which is great.
But, one server has the following license that it came with:
OpenManage Essentials Advanced Features
This seems to let me do the same things. What's the difference between the two licenses? I can't find much on this second license online.
Thanks,
Tim.

Hello Tim,
Old thread, but just came across this. Wanted to let you know that the two licenses, Advanced and Server Configuration, are both the same in functionality just different names. The name change was done to better align with the product feature in OpenManage Essentials. I hope this helps.

Hi Tim,
The Advanced one sounds like a trial license. Is that possible? Sometimes the trial licenses are good for 30 days or so. But I can't recall for sure.
And remember there is a whitepaper and some good videos on the server config stuff on delltechcenter.com/ome.
Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,
Thanks for getting back to me.
No, the Advanced one isn't a trial, it's listed as perpetual. So I'm still a bit confused about the differences in licenses. They probably do the same thing, but I don't like to assume. There must be some definitive information around somewhere?
Thanks for the links to the server config stuff. All looks useful.
Tim.
