how to hide updates that are available under System Update
We have certain types of updates that we don't want to ever apply through Dell OpenManage Essentials. Don't want a user accidentally selecting one of these.
Is there a way to either:
1. Globally disable a particular update, or a particular piece of hardware from receiving updates? For example never update Broadcom NetXtreme I or II Drivers?
Failing that option....
2. Can we at least hide specific updates on an individual basis? Select the server under Non-Compliant, then select the update, and hide it. The same way MS offers in Windows Update. If you see a Windows Update you don't want, you can right-click and choose Hide Update and it won't be offered again.
Thank you!

Hi,
Thanks for your post.
Currently you can filer the updates which you don't want to see in UI by applying filter. On the column header, you can deselect any of the packages that you do not want to see and it will not appear in UI. That said, it is only UI. You server is still shown non-compliant because comparison is done based on all the applicable packages. I hope this answers your query.

Can you detail where that is done? How do I deselect packages so they don't appear in the UI?
Thank you!

When you select a device, in non compliant tab, then all the applicable packages are shown in the below tab. There you can click on the filter icon present in column header and deselect the package which you don't want to see. Then apply the filter. This should stop OME from showing it in UI for you.
