How to get device driver update in Dell OME 3.6
Hi All
I can get firmware updates for the devices but not the driver updates, I can see a lot of people having the same issue and we cant find anything useful in Dell user guide.
OME 3.4 and above versions are using OpenSSH. So I have installed OpenSSH in my servers and Discovered those devices from OME console. Device added successfully.
But while I create Firmware/ Compliance Baseline, Servers which are discovered through OpenSSH is not available in device selection
In the device if I run a inventory Collection, this is the error received,
Messages:
Running
Checking if OS inventory can be collected...
OS inventory cannot be collected. The status of the required artifacts are not available.
The Inventory operation failed. Inventory details were not provided by device.
Please retry refresh inventory for the device.
Task Failed. Completed With Errors.
Anyone please help how to get both firmware and driver updates of the servers in latest OME version
Regards - Jim

Hello,
I wanted to post here to let you know that your message was seen, at the least. I'll be happy to see what resources I can help locate next week.

I've done a bit of looking, if DSU/Inventory collector is installed on the node, running Collect Driver Inventory will install it for you. Have either of these tools been installed?

We're having the same issue. All of our iDrac9 machine still work perfectly, but our idrac8 machines fail with the above error. They cannot be inventoried. When I try to install driver or idrac updates to them through OME, I get an error that they rejected a bad http method.
One was running idrac v2.75.100.75 and was requesting update to 2.81.81.81, so I performed that update by manually downloading and installing, and now I have no change in its behavior through openmanage, but manually going to its console with the FQDN gives "Access Error: 400 -- Bad Request" and I can log in normally with its IP address, so that may be related.

Thank you. That helped with the access error 400 bad request, but the "The Inventory operation failed. Inventory details were not provided by device." message persists when trying to do an inventory, against idrac8 versions 2.75.100.75 and 2.81.81.81.

Removing and then rediscovering those devices worked and I was able to get a good configuration inventory from them again (OME v3.7.02)
