Fan not working after OpenManage installation

Hello everyone,

I have a brand new R330 that has been working fine for a few weeks.

Today, I installed OpenManage and suddenly, I get the yellow flashing LED + message on the front screen + message in OpenManage. These all tell me that System Board Fan 1A and 1B have failed. Six other fans are ok.

The tricky thing is that there is no Fan 1A and 1B in my R330 server....

It looks like the installation of OpenManage has erased some sort of configuration file that would have declared the non-existence of these fan...

Does anybody know where/what to do to let him learn back that there are no such fans in my config ?

Regards

Laurent

Hello

If you have a PCIe riser installed then fan 1a/b is required. If the system is giving an error that the fan is missing then it thinks you have a configuration which requires the fan. If you do not have a PCIe riser installed then update the system BIOS and iDRAC/LCC. If the issue persists then clear the hardware logs in the iDRAC/LCC. You should be able to clear the logs using OMSA. You can find downloads and documentation on the system support page.

Dear Daniel, Indeed, you are extremely "smart" Daniel. I also have added at the exact same time a PCI riser with a new graphic adapter. I had not seen in the Dell package the delivered fan, lost in the middle of the paper. I related this to OpenManage, but this was a "mistake". Thanks so much. Regards
