DRAC Devices Are Not Inventoried
I have two DRAC devices added to OME. OME is pulling all of the system information, it shows everything about the host, and shows them as Inventoried. However, when I go to the System Update tab, it still lists the two devices under the Non-Inventoried Systems tab.
I have two other DRAC devices that are in the same group and inventory fine. I am not sure why.

Hi there,
Can you confirm you are discovering these devices using the WS-Man protocol?
We also have a whitepaper called: Updating Dell Servers with OpenManage Essentials. It is on www.delltechcenter.com/ome and may have additional useful background.
Thanks,
Rob

I confirmed it is being inventoried via ws-man. It is still showing up in the Non-Inventoried Systems tab. However, I can click on the host and get the inventory information.
I already have the whitepaper and have other hosts that work fine using ws-man with the exact same settings.

Hi,
Yeah, ok. We are looking at a possible problem introduced by 1.50.50 and later. Maybe bump the thread next week and I'll try to find out if I've learned anything.
If it is an option for you, for debugging purposes, if you can roll back to a version prior to 1.50.50, it might be good to compare results. But if it is a production server for you, it may not be an option.
Thx

FYI: I'm having the same issue. Poweredge R720, 1.50.50 firmware, stuck on "Non-Inventoried Systems".
Between this and my other issues that I've posted on these forums (one in Blades, another here), the testing of this product is going really, really poorly. Based on how long OME has been out, I have to say I'm quite disappointed.

Running OME1.3 and have an R710 doing this. Four other servers bought in the same batch are just fine. Is the hotfix included in v1.3 ?

Operating System VMware ESXi 5.5.0 build-1881737
BIOS Version 6.2.3
Firmware Version 1.97 (Build 02)

WS-Man only. SNMP was enabled but I turned it off during troubleshooting. All of the servers are currently single hosts grouped together in a discovery range group.
I haven't been able to try reset on the iDRAC yet.
Edit: This sever gets listed under OEM Devices. Whereas the others are listed under RAC.

yes it is. Are you discovering the iDracs via WSMan and only WSMan? Or do you have SNMP checked in the disc wizard as well?
Are the other 4 that are good in the same discovery range?

Yeah, try that.
Also, are you discovering iDrac + server ip address? If so, the server discovery must not be able to detect the server model number. Is OMSA working properly on that box?
thx

Discovery is only on the iDRAC by hostname with WS-Man. The server running ESXi so there is no OMSA installed.

Ok,
1. delete those devices from the tree
2. bump up the WSMan timeout for value to 60 seconds
3. re-discover
let me know.
thx
