Dell R710 - ESX5.1 Server Admin 7.4 Storage Management Alert

Greetings, I have been successfully deploying the OMSA 7.4 VIB to my Dell ESX5.1 host successfully utilizing Update Manage. However, all my servers Dell R710s) are reporting a Warning in the OpenManage Essentials Console under the Software Agent Information Section for the following Items: - Server Administrator (Storage Management) - VMware ESXi 5.1.0 build-1065491 No other details are provided besides the agent version, description and Manufacture. Also, under that section the iDRAC6 is showing as a "?" but list the agent version and agent description as well. This might be related to the fact that under the RAC section its reporting the RAC Connection Status as OFF. Are additional steps needed to get these warnings resolved? Cheers

You need to setup two separate groups, I have one for MGMT (iDRACS) and one for Hosts, both being discovered using WS MAN, as like you said they have different passwords, our usernames are the same.

Hopefully this might set you on the right track.

Do you have your ESXi boxes discovered using the host IP and the iDRAC IP?  You should be using the WS MAN protocol as well.

That make sense. Seems to work as expected. Cheers

Hi TRScott, Thank you for the response. I am using WS Man protocol to do my discovery with the following settings: timeout: 15 seconds retires: 4 attempts port: 443 Secure Mode (checked) Skip Common Name Check (checked) Trusted Site (checked) I added the IP address of the DRAC to the discovery and it classified it as a unclassified device. I think I see where the issue is. Since we use a different user name/password for the drac than what we use to discovery the ESXi host this is causing the discovery of the DRAC to fail. Cheers
