Dell OpenManage Essentials OS Deploy

Please find answers below.

1-For dell manage essentials, what licenses i need to deploy windows to our Dell servers? and how these licenses will be installed?

Answer: To enable  Server configuration feature of OME you will need to install The OpenManage Essentials — Server Configuration Management license on target Server [iDRAC]

To deploy the license you can use Dell EMC License Manager, which is available in OpenManage Essentials installation package. Or using iDRAC UI you can import the license.

2-How i can force the target dell server to boot to iso image automatically and start the installation since we need zero touch deployment in our  1000 server

Answer: Using OME deployment – Boot to Network ISO option you will be able to deploy and attach ISO image to the server. Once the ISO image is attached to server,  it will reboot and server will boot from attached ISO. [If ISO is customized and don’t required user interaction then further installation will be completed. If ISO is required user interactions then user has to follow the installation instruction to complete the OS installation.

 3-And after deploying OS . Is there a way to install the dell drivers remotely after windows has been deployed?

Answer: Using System Update feature you will be able to update drivers and firmware of your servers.
